Nurses

Our practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with things like contraception, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings.

They also run clinics for long-term conditions such as asthma and diabetes, see people with minor illnesses, and carry out cervical screening.

  • Louise Thompson (female) – Practice Nurse Manager. Qualified 2010, Birmingham University. RGN, certificates in family planning, asthma and independent prescribing. Works Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
  • Linda Hoop (female) – Prescribing Nurse. Qualified 1985. EN, RGN, BSc (Hons) Health Studies, diplomas in family planning and sexual health, diabetes. Independent and supplementary prescriber. Degree modules in managing minor illness and asthma. Works Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  • Jackie Darlison (female) – Prescribing Nurse. Qualified 1985. EN, RGN, diplomas in diabetes, asthma and A&E nursing. Independent and supplementary prescriber. Diploma module in managing minor illness. Works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
  • Sarah Richards (female) – Qualified in York. RGN, certificates in family planning, asthma, diabetes and independent prescribing. Works Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday morning and Friday
  • Andrea Hunt (female) – Nurse Associate. Works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Healthcare assistants

Our healthcare assistants support the nurses. They carry out health checks, spirometry, ECGs and blood pressure measurements. They can also act as a chaperone if you or the doctor asks for one.

Physiotherapy and mental health

  • Rob Garbutt (male) – First Contact Physiotherapist. He is the first point of contact for muscle, bone and joint problems. He assesses you and either treats you in the appointment or refers you on. He does not provide courses of physiotherapy
  • Vicky Powell (female) – Mental Health Practitioner, for over-18s. Works Monday and Tuesday
  • Alan Price (male) – Mental Health Practitioner, for over-18s. Works Wednesday

Reception team

Our receptionists are your first point of contact. They can tell you about our services and help you decide who is the right person to see.

Admin team

Our administrators keep patient records accurate and up to date. They scan, code and file documents.
